Arley Parish Council Spring 2021
Well, here we are almost in Spring of 2021 and still in lockdown. The vaccination programme is at full steam ahead and even I get my jab on Saturday. Figures produced at the moment tend to confirm we are getting on top of this pandemic but we need to proceed with caution.
Good News:
We have managed to obtain a small grant to secure some more equipment for Gunhill Recreation Ground. This equipment will be installed once the weather improves and lockdown allows. Whilst on the subject of recreation grounds we pay a contractor to litter pick them all every two weeks. We cannot afford to increase the regularity of this so everyone who uses these facilities please look after them. Place litter etc in the litterbins provided. Broken bottles left in Gunhill Recreation Ground have been problematic recently. Broken glass is a major health problem so please , if you break glass or see broken glass please carefully put it in one of the litter bins provided.
We are hoping to restore the footpath leading from Daffern Wood to Arley Industrial Estate. There is some thirty yards of the pathway incomplete so this will be done and will assist anyone using it. Again, availability of materials and lockdown restriction will dictate when this work is carried out but we are told it is imminent.
We have had to move our website provider and email base which as caused problems with holding Zoom meetings. We are on top of this now and should hold a full Zoom meeting March and if all goes well then our April Zoom meeting will be open to Parishioners. To obtain the link please email me at and include what points you want to raise.
This leaves me to thank everyone for tolerating these lonely and difficult times and hope things ease for the summer.
