Please be advised that the 4 vacancies on the Parish Council will be filled by an election which will take place in June. Please see notices attached. Please note that, due to the council not currently having access to a clerk, the option to request application forms from the clerk will not be possible at this time.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN

 

that due to the resignation of Martin Langley, Nigel Turley And Trevor Tennant, vacancies have arisen in the Office of Councillor for the Parish Council.

 

If by 30 April, 2026 (14 days excluding Dies Non, after the date of this notice) a request for an election to fill said vacancies is made in writing to the Returning Officer at the address below by TEN electors for the said Parish, an election will be held to fill the said vacancies, otherwise the vacancies will be filled by co-option.

 

If an election is called, it will take place not later than 6 July, 2026.

ARLEY PARISH COUNCIL
VACANCY FOR PARISH COUNCILLOR

There are 2 vacancies on Arley Council and the positions will be filled by co-option.
Should more applications be received for the vacancies, councillors will decide the appointment by a vote, or series of votes, in order to obtain a majority decision.
To be considered for co-option, applicants must meet at least one of the following criteria:
1. Be registered as a Local Government Elector for the Parish on the current Electoral Register.
2. Has during the whole of the previous 12 months occupied as tenant or owner any land or other premises in the Parish.
3. Has had his/her principal or only place of work in the previous 12 months in the Parish of Arley
4. Has resided either in the Parish or within 3 miles thereof during the previous 12 months.

Anyone wishing to be considered for co-option should contact the Clerk for an application form, closing date for return of the application form is Monday 6th April 2026.
